Product Details

    Unistellar eQuinox Smart Telescope 1

Discover what it feels like to accumulate enough light to reveal galaxies, comets, and nebulae in just seconds with stunning and clear detail with the Unistellar eVscope eQuinox smart telescope.

It is an incredibly intelligent and dynamic scientific tool that can be used to work directly with astronomers from the SETI Institute to detect asteroids that could hurdle into Earth, enjoy the mysterious beauty of supernovas, and so much more. You will be immersed into the Unistellar Network, where you will be able to receive tips for collecting and submitting space data, get help capturing your favorite deep sky target, and even put your data into action through visuals and 3D prints!

If you're just starting out in astronomy and have a busy schedule that may not be able to dedicate hours upon hours of telescope set up in a remote dark sky area, then you can fully appreciate the ease of the eQuinox. Set-up only takes a few seconds and all you have to do to begin observing is use your smartphone or tablet, even if your eQuinox is set up outside in light-polluted urban areas and you want to cozy up inside on the couch.

You can easily share the magic with up to 10 people at a time by having them connect their smartphone or tablet to the eQuinox. Star parties have never been more fun and accessible!

    Enhanced Vision

At 100 times more powerful than a regular telescope, Unistellar's Enhanced Vision is patented proprietary technology that allows a live observation of faint objects. This is due to the live accumulation of the light received from the objects. Galaxies, nebulae, and comets finally become visible, colorful, and detailed.

The light is accumulated over short periods of time using a low light sensor, along with Unistellar's proprietary algorithms of image processing that run on an on-board calculation module. The resulting amplified image is projected at infinite focus into the eye of the observer with an extremely high contrast ratio, creating a genuine and live experience of sky observation. Sensor settings and image processing parameters are automatically adjusted.

Depending on observing conditions (light pollution, moon phase, weather, etc...) and the objects you are pointing toward, it can take from a few seconds to several tens of seconds for you to start seeing the beautiful colors and shapes of galaxies and nebulae that are normally invisible, even through the eyepiece of a large conventional telescope.

    Autonomous Field Detection

Simple and accurate pointing and tracking make the eQuinox incredibly easy to use. The Autonomous Field Detection system instantly recognizes the objects in its field of view, by comparing what it sees with a coordinates database of tens of millions of stars. This allows its automated tracking and pointing system to be extremely accurate and easy to use, making the eQuinox by far the most user-friendly telescope on the market.

The Autonomous Field Detection system also allows the eQuinox to inform you about what you are observing (distance from the Earth, etc.) Coupled with magento-accelerometers and with a motorized mount, AFD allows the eQuinox to automatically align with celestial coordinates and accurately pinpoint and identify any object in the sky. Anytime, users can get contextual information about many of the pointed objects on their smartphones. Watch this video from Unistellar to show you how to easily find all of the targets you are looking for!

    Smart Light Pollution Reduction

    Unistellar eQuinox Smart Telescope 4

Unistellar's proprietary software mitigates the impact of light pollution and allows viewers to observe distant objects in crisp, clear detail even among the bright lights of inner-city environments. The human brain cannot filter, process, and prioritize light sources, rendering celestial objects invisible to the human eye (and most conventional telescopes, cameras, and computers). You'll recognize light pollution in images as "noise", which blurs objects and distorts shapes and colors of the target.

For each observation, Unistellar's technology will quickly identify background light, then automatically filter and remove this unwanted light. This results in delivering you the best possible image parameters and data. You'll have more precise images with better contrast and colors, regardless of the level of brightness in the sky (moonlight, urban light pollution).

    Contribute to Space Science

The Unistellar Network is the first global community of citizen astronomers (novice and advanced) that fuels the delivering of scientifically valuable observations across the globe.

    Unistellar App

You will have access to the most wonderful and awe-inspiring targets at the tip of your fingers with the Unistellar app, available on iOS and Android systems. With a catalog of over 5,500 space objects to select, you can use the app to learn about and easily identify cosmic objects, including what are ideal for viewing from your location. With this connected technology, you'll be able to save and share your experience with others, either in person or virtually!

The Unistellar app provides fascinating educational content and also automates your observing experience, a perfect tool for novices to enjoy their device right away! For more advanced users, the app also offers manual controls. Check out this video from Unistellar for more information!
